Having been to Linda’s home a week or so earlier to sharpen all Linda’s scissors and Clippers. Linda and her partner Sandra quickly decided that they could start up a Scissor and Clipper sharpening business. As Linda is a trained dog groomer she realised it was quite difficult finding someone reliable and with the necessary skills in her area.
They came to Frankland Grinding Products , Accrington. Arthur trained the girls together following his proven training methods learnt over the past thirty or so years. The girls decided to purchase the AF/CAN Clipper Honer, the Ookami scissorsharpening system and the Tru-Hone knife sharpener. At the end of the first day they were presented with the 49 Question test relating to all the problems that they are likely to encounter. These are two bright dexterous ladies said Arthur, who has just sent them a Certificate of competence. The combination of Linda’s grooming skills and familiarity with groomers scissors and different types of Clipper blades and Sandra’s positive sales attitude to business should be the perfect recipe for success .
An old customer “back in the fold” a great feeling. Posh Dogs are City and Guilds qualified dog beauticians. Two lovely girls who seemed to be non stop busy. They needed most of their Aesculaps blades sharpening plus some five professional shears.
Aesculaps combs and cutters are possibly the most expensive clippers but the resulting grooming is fantastic. The scissors were ergonomic and one pair had the oscillating thumb ring which helps to prevent repetitive strain . This is a modern grooming salon run by two truly dedicated groomers and dog lovers. Groomers happy- Arthur happy !
Today I was called out by Natalie and her team-Yasmin and the apprentice Darby. I sharpened their Titanium Scissors and their Wahl clippers. These were subsequently tested on me ! Everyone was happy with the new sharp results. Natalie is left handed and said she would probably buy some new “lefties” on my next visit.
Yasmin needed a new scissor immediately, She examined three presentation cases of scissors and chose a 5 1/2″ Japanese Cobalt Scissor – I suggested she should test them to see if they were perfect for her. She did so, we agreed a superb price for her and she purchased them. Happy Yasmin. Maybe I should add “good luck with the baby when he/she arrives !”
Young Darby said she needs a new scissor , I said I would supply her with one at a price an apprentice could afford.
